Saginaw Bay & Saginaw River Fishing
The walleye season usually starts beginning of May for Saginaw Bay's early walleye. This is prime time to catch some of the bigger fish that are dropping back into the bay from their spring spawning. Its also not unusual to catch brown trout, lake trout, salmon and steel head during this early season as the water is still very cold in the bay. June and July provide excellent walleye action. The weather is warm and the walleye fishing is hot. Limit catches of walleye are very common. Small mouth bass, perch, catfish and northern pike are frequently a part of the days catch, often providing non stop action. August can also be a fine walleye month if the weather holds constant. However once the wind and rainy season starts it really disrupts the fishing. We will use Rapala's and our custom made crawler harnesses. (Harnesses are available for purchase on our products page)
